Column filtering allows to add search filters that are column specific. So, instead of searching for whole table, each filter will be applicable to the corresponding column data. In this article we discuss one aspect of using these filters that has to do with their position in the table.
If you add column filters using the default values, the filters will be added on the top table row. The default value for each filter will appear to be the value of the cell, which in most cases is the title of the column, since it's the header row, as shown in the image below:
That's acceptable, but let's say that wanted to do something more elegant: to add and extra row with the filters right below the header row. This is more user friendly, as the column headers are always visible regardless of the filter values. To do that, you need to use the following settings:
