Multiple dynamic table features can be combined within the same table, including sorting, pagination, and filtering. A responsive pattern can also be applied in this example, horizontal scrolling to ensure that the table remains easy to use on smaller screens. The table filter searches across all rows and columns. If you need to search within specific columns only, use the column filtering feature instead.

Column filters allow users to search within specific columns instead of searching the entire table. Different filter types can be used, including text input fields, select drop-down lists, and value-range filters. Tabulizer also supports different comparison methods, such as partial and exact matching.

External column filters are especially useful on smaller screens, where they can provide a more accessible and user-friendly filtering interface. The Tabulizer online table wizard can automatically generate the required code for external column filters, which can then be placed above or below the table.

Tabulizer supports dependencies between column filters. When a value is selected in a parent filter, the available values in the dependent child filter are updated automatically. In this example, selecting a car manufacturer automatically updates the list of available models. Try selecting a manufacturer to see the dependent filter in action.

Tabulizer allows you to define the data type used when sorting a particular column. Standard data types such as numbers, dates, and text are supported, but you can also define custom data types when more specialized sorting logic is required. In this example, a custom sorting data type is used to correctly sort part numbers.
